About Mesilos Hatorah

Our mission

Bais Medrash Mesilos Hatorah is a Torah congregation in Lakewood, New Jersey, where young men and a kollel gather each day for prayer and Torah study. Led by Rabbi Yanky Kahan and devoted rebbeim, we nurture each member’s spiritual growth with warmth, guiding him to master the Talmud deeply and carry his learning with pride for life. Today 45 men learn with us, and about 55 have been part of our community since 2022.

Our approach

Every member learns in an atmosphere of warmth, with rebbeim who teach with love and believe in his success. Learning is self-driven: bochurim are given the tools and the encouragement to take ownership of what they learn, so it stays with them.

Our story

Bais Medrash Mesilos Hatorah was founded in 2022 by Rabbi Yanky Kahan. In four years the congregation has grown to 45 men learning here today: 36 bochurim and 9 yungeleit in the kollel. About 55 have been part of our community since we opened.
